Nonprofits compete for over $180,000 in Friendly
Competitions & Individual Matching Grants
- Challenge Grants are awarded via friendly competitions between Give! non-profits
- Matching Grants are awarded to a single Give! non-profit if the organization achieves certain benchmarks.
- Unique donors are gifts from a single person. For example, if a person donates three times to the same non-profit over the course of the two month Give! campaign, that person will have made 3 gifts, but will count as just one (1) unique donor.
The Independent and our Give! partners are pleased to offer the following competitions open to all 49 Give! nonprofits:
$1,500 to the non-profit in each category
1. That receives the most # of Give! 2011 donations of $10+ from unique donors
2. That receives the most # of Give! 2011 donations of $10+ from young adults in their 20s and 30s
$750 to the second place finisher in each category in each of the above 2 competitions
$250 to the third place finisher in each category in each of the above 2 competitions
Click thru the categorical tabs at the top of this page to see who's in first, second and third place in each of these competitions in each category. It changes daily, sometimes hourly, so come back often!
Early Bird Competition
To encourage participating groups to get out of the box earlier, the Early Bird winner in each category will be the nonprofit with the largest number of total unique donors before midnight on Sunday, Nov. 27, 2011. Early Bird winners will be featured: as Day Sponsors on KRCC-FM during December 2011, in a congratulatory ad and press release sent out by the Independent, as honored guests (along with complimentary information tables) at the Dec. 15, 2011 Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours event and as Give! representatives at the Independent's 2011 Best of Party on December 1, 2011.
