"PPUG gives people the knowledge, resources and local support needed to grow their own food, helping to build community one garden at a time!"

Pikes Peak Urban Gardens

WHAT WE DO

We cultivate community through organic gardening and sustainable urban farm projects by providing guidance on how to grow food in our semi-arid region. We also assist those wanting to start community gardens. PPUG also manages the Harlan Wolfe demonstration garden where interns and community members learn hands-on how to grow plants in our unique climate.

WHY WE’RE GREAT!

PPUG helps build real communities in neighborhoods while at the same time making everyone less dependent on food from far away. This cuts down on carbon emissions, pesticide use and chemical fertilizers. Children are more likely to eat vegetables if they have grown the food themselves. Neighborhoods that have community gardens see a rise in their property values and a reduction in crime. Best of all, homegrown vegetables, herbs and fruits taste great and are more nutritious.
