Safe Place for Pets

What We Do

We find new, loving “forever homes” for the pets of terminally ill owners. Prior to adoption, we place the pet in a caring foster home and provide all the care needed for their health and wellness. The “Hard Times Pet Care Fund” provides TLC for our foster pets in the form of grooming, veterinary care, training and other needs affecting their quality of life.

Why We’re Great!

While families are dealing with the complexities and sorrows of managing a terminal illness, we offer peace of mind to our clients and their pets. We have no paid staff, but a dedicated board and many volunteers who each possess unique skills, a strong work ethic and a tremendous compassion and respect for the people and pets that they serve. Our extremely low overhead means more than 90 cents from every dollar directly benefit the animals in our care.

Make A Donation
When Mike and I began volunteering for Safe Place, we never expected to need their services. But when we did, we knew that Beau would be cared for and loved. That gave Mike a lot of peace in his last days.
