Just miles from downtown Colorado Springs, our large working ranch provides educational opportunities in all aspects of ranching, conservation and land management. Help at a bird banding station, take a birding tour, learn prairie and wetland ecology, or take an art, photography or Native American history class. For visitors ages kindergarten through adult, we have a hands-on experience for you!
We offer a unique opportunity for people of all ages to experience a true working cattle ranch and build an appreciation for the beauty and abundance of our native prairie. Where else can a child hold a songbird in her hand, bottle-feed a lamb, learn to swing a rope and saddle a horse, or pretend to be a pioneer in a real 1890s schoolhouse? Adults learn that by working with nature’s design, ranchers can both make a living from the land and improve it for future generations.
Thanks for giving us your birth year. There is a special matching grant available to the organization in each category that garners the most donations from folks in their 20's and 30's. One of the big focuses of this campaign is to encourage younger citizens to become more active donors.
When Give! ends at the stroke of midnight, December 31, 2012, our goal is to have raised more than $800,0000 -- that's $100,000 more than we raised last year. To help us on our way, generous local businesses, foundations and individuals have pledged more than a quarter million dollars in Matching Grants and Friendly Competition Awards for our 58 participating nonprofits.
