We serve the common ground for the common good. We protect the area in and around the 2,600-square-mile Upper South Platte watershed. A true sense of purpose drives our work on water resource quality, protection of the environment, riparian corridor enhancement and restoration, forest health, and fire rehabilitation, as well as large-scale volunteer engagement and environmental education.
We have helped heal the scars that the Hayman Fire left on our land and in our hearts. We are taking the lessons learned from the Hayman Fire to help with the restoration and recovery efforts of the Waldo Canyon Fire. We bring leading-edge technology to restoration projects throughout the watershed. We develop and implement best practices for catastrophic event mitigation, recovery and restoration. We even have an active Red Card Certified Wildland Firefighting Team!
Thanks for giving us your birth year. There is a special matching grant available to the organization in each category that garners the most donations from folks in their 20's and 30's. One of the big focuses of this campaign is to encourage younger citizens to become more active donors.
When Give! ends at the stroke of midnight, December 31, 2012, our goal is to have raised more than $800,0000 -- that's $100,000 more than we raised last year. To help us on our way, generous local businesses, foundations and individuals have pledged more than a quarter million dollars in Matching Grants and Friendly Competition Awards for our 58 participating nonprofits.
