We preserve and enhance Monument Valley Park. Earlier this year, we completed our first set of repairs on the amazing historic stonework that makes Monument Valley Park one of the treasures of Colorado Springs. Thanks to past years’ Give! donors, we repaired the stone overlook at the Culebra Avenue entrance for future generations of park users to enjoy.
Our next project is the repair of the 1907 Geologic Column with the aid of a grant awarded to us by the State Historical Fund and funds raised through Give!. Unfortunately, there are more than 40 other stone walls, entryways, and overlooks in the park that are deteriorating as well. Since the city cannot afford to maintain them, it’s up to us. Help the Friends save these signature features of our park.
Volunteers for park clean-up, weeding & collecting loose stones; special events volunteers; naturalist tour guides; skilled historic masonry repair, tree & shrub donations & installation
The "cover my transaction fee" option allows you to donate money to offset the processing fee VISA, Mastercard etc. charge us for each credit card transaction on indygive.com. Normally those costs are covered by Give! and a few generous underwriters, but with a goal of raising $1 million this year, that's $30,000 in fees! It's a nice way of supporting Give! directly if you like what we do for nonprofits in Colorado Springs, but it's by no means obligatory or expected. Either way, we appreciate your support of our 59 participating organizations!
Thanks for giving us your birth year. There is a special matching grant available to the organization in each category that garners the most donations from folks in their 20's and 30's. One of the big focuses of this campaign is to encourage younger citizens to become more active donors.
To reach our $1 million goal, the community needs to raise at least $678,000 by midnight on Dec. 31, 2013.
