Friends of Monument Valley Park: Monument Valley Park Rocks!

What We Do

We are dedicated to preserving and enhancing Monument Valley Park, the jewel given to Colorado Springs by General Palmer in 1907. Among the park’s many treasures is the amazing 100-year old and WPA-era stonework. Unfortunately, many of the historic stone walls, entryways and bridges are in major disrepair. Help us repair the Park’s incredible stone features.

Why We’re Great!

For over 100 years, this two-mile park has provided a welcome green space in the heart of downtown. Every day the trails are filled with walkers, joggers and cyclists, while Frisbee, softball and soccer players use the park’s fields. The unique stonework is among the park’s most valuable enhancements. Unfortunately, the City cannot afford needed repairs. Therefore, we have enthusiastically taken on the role of caring for the park, including the preservation of its historic stone features.
